Charred dreams

He crawls, pleading eyes
Searching through,
Ashes, still warm..
as her touch, her smile.
Did she cry,
whispered his name.
He asks the tattered sky..
Silent- desperate.
Searching, did she pray..
For him to see..
Unshed acid tears
burning her skin.
Did the angels cry,
hearing her screams.
Bones so tender,
demons crushing.
Bleeding hands, he finds
her battered soul.
The charred sparrow,
Vacant eyes – frozen hope.
He washes her scars.
With tears and regrets..
the wind cries..
A child is dead.

wow........... thats t best poem from bottom to top level reading..
i m giving 100 out of 100..
@Crazy
yes.. this is my best work ever..
very very verrrry personal poem..
Another brilliant piece!
I was wondering and secretly hoping that you differentiate your poem "Broken Dreams" from this one (or vice versa considering the order I'm read this in).
I am very pleased to notice you intensified this to a whole new level.
All right, I'll admit, that I reckon, this is one of my most favourite one in this spot.
Very deep, soulful, sentimental feel, this carries with it. It is very hard to deliver such feelings to make your reader feel the same as well.
I am glad you succeeded in doing so. Keep it up!!!
@Brosreview -
thanx Ajey.. this is my personal favorite (a close second to "the last bus").. many of my regular readers missed this one cz i posted it before my blog found some visibility. thank u for taking time out to read it.
The poem is very deep, very dark. It may not be the ability of even the most seasoned to get to the soul of this poem. But one can sense the fragility of the human heart, the haplessness involved with tragic feelings, the evergreen love of loved ones, the regrets of dreams promised but that remained unfulfilled. I feel choked now.
@Vittal.. its actually not that tough to get to the bottom of this poem. its a father mourning for his little girl who was snatched from him.
read the poem again.. u will get it and other symbols in the poem
Was it that simple? I guess it is now that you have revealed it. I feel even more choked now. Remember the Mystical Angel poem, which seemed to have a similar soul to it.
My my... Seems like this is extremely personal, or something you dread and wish may never happen again.
You remind me of my college days when while writing dark poems, I used to try to keep a check on how black my thoughts can get. But then, restrained thoughts are the biggest hindrance while writing such works. You need to break the filter and let everything breathe. Even if its breathing down your neck.
I found your work very disturbing. The reference to the "charred sparrow" and the "wind cries" parts were too morbid. But having written dark poems, unless and until such works don't shake you or distance you from yourself, they have not created the impact they intended too. I just hope that you can channel your creativity in painting other emotions too. Don't embrace the darkness so much that you start fighting the light.
Good work.
A very meaningful poem indeed...
"He washes her scars.
With tears and regrets.."..how well put!
I thoroughly enjoyed my maiden visit to your blog.
@Ambirit - thank u so much :)
