Which one is worse, being betrayed... or being betrayed by your own intellect that lured you into believing the shadows in the first place?

PS: I will be starting a story here very soon.. the line above is kinda part of that ritual you have to go through before you let the characters flow...

please feel free to answer that question...

love

It looks like you want to let the betrayer off the hook. So blaming ones own intellect seems like a good escape?

So from poet you are going to transform yourself into a Story Teller. Great skills. :-)

There is a popular saying - "Trust everyperson in this world but don't trust the DEVIL inside them". If we can follow this, we can easily get blind to "Mrigtrishna". But having said that, it's not easy to follow what we preach otherwise temple would have been churches and churches would have been mosque. So if you ask me what is worse, I would say our own intellect that's why "Warmth of your breaths (were)
melting my soul". Ha! :-)

Hi Chhaya

Betraying your own intellect or judgement is worse in most situations, I think.

That trait allows you to trust the person who is betraying you. But sometimes its easier to live a lie.

Chhaya May 18, 2009 at 9:27 AM

@Pete.. so true.. "sometimes its easy to live a lie"

John May 19, 2009 at 12:20 PM

How about being betrayed by both? What if you are blinded by love skewing your logic and intellect? I think a combination of the two would be worse. Let's just say I have experience on the receiving end of being betrayed by someone I thought was a friend.

Chhaya May 19, 2009 at 12:29 PM

@Quackster -

I think Pete's comment merged with urs summarized it all. sometimes we let our skewed intellect fool our instincts because its so easy and blissful to live some lies.. even if it gives us brutal pain afterward...

A new poem or the first few lines of the story coming up before tomorrow is over.. :)

Are the shadows not for real? Are they not always following you? Does your intellect fail you in recognising your own shadow from that of others? Has your shadow ever betrayed you?
Probably Chhaya is not your real name, that is why you doubt even your own shadow. You seem to be afraid, if your shadow will follow you or not. Why this untrue fear?
You do not surprise me at all. Coz you are same old melancholy Chhaya shadowing my dreams.

Chhaya November 4, 2009 at 5:04 PM

I dont lie. i may be good at being elusive, but i dont lie about my name etc.

RAJ47,  November 4, 2009 at 6:22 PM

Writers of your stature do not lie. I was refering to adopted name, which certain writers do take to suit their character or a particular style of writing. I did not mean to make you more melancholy than what you are. It was infact an effort to generate a thought in reply to your question - the answer to which you sought. By this statement "I dont lie. i may be good at being elusive, but i dont lie about my name etc" you are trying to elude my questions.

@Raj - i misunderstood i guess.. ur last comment. no, its not my pen-name, as they call it.. i am Chhaya.. and i kinda like my name :)

Hi Chhaya,
I saw your blog's captivating name on "gentleseas". I found your header image really admiring (it is Thiksey I guess). I hope you know what is written on the prayer wheels. I then read your Ladakh Diary - I; the culture being very close to my heart, I liked it. Ladakh is simply breathtaking. You must visit MacLeodganj, you will surely like it. You will also get inspiration to write more.
My subject is a serious one although very interesting. I need some outing from my topics every now and then. In your writings I have found a "Manna" in this wild wild desert of LIFE!!!
THANX!!!
